Cold: how to combine beauty and comfort

On these cold winter days, when we are tired of rain, snow, and cold, our skin also asks for help. External factors damage and weaken our body's first protective barrier, and therefore it is extremely important that we take specific care of it. Today we are going to leave here some tips and products that can be used to make the skin healthier than ever!

I'm going to start with what we all know, hydration. Dry, cold air tends to make this fight worse. Drinking lots of water, using a good moisturizer (face and body) and lipstick daily can be enough to make a difference. Of course, for the best effect possible, it is very important to clean and remove make-up from the skin before applying the cream, using a product suitable for your needs. Regarding hygiene, it is also important to mention that too hot water damages the skin of the face, body, and scalp. Using warm water is enough to bring the comfort of “warmness” in winter, but without being too aggressive for our skin.

As I mentioned at the beginning, it is extremely important that we protect ourselves from external factors! Despite being winter, the sun is still an enemy of the skin, so a good sunscreen should be used throughout the year (it is never too much to remember). Wind, rain, ice, and snow can also be harmful and sensitize the skin, so it is advisable to protect your face with a scarf or jacket.

Last but not least, we must not forget about vitamin D. In winter, sun exposure decreases substantially, so it is important to think about boosting vitamin D levels with a dietary supplement. And of course, in more extreme cases or if you have doubts, it never hurts to consult a dermatologist or a pharmacist.
