How to be sustainable in the day-to-day face routine

How to be sustainable in the day-to-day face routine

27 May 2021

How many times have you thought about saving the environment and end up doing less than expected?

Helping can be as simple as recycling or reducing the disposable products we use on a daily basis. Is reducing disposables easy? Cereal boxes, toilet paper ... these everyday things don't seem easy at all!

Not everything is like this. If we start with what is in fact very easy, we are already doing more than yesterday!

So today I bring you some suggestions for environmentally friendly products that you can use in makeup and face cleaning, and that will help reduce our ecological footprint without being inconvenient at all.

For me, one of the most useful products in this process of change was the reusable make-up swab because I always used cotton swabs to touch up the make-up of the face (or even the nails!). This product avoids the use of 365 cotton swabs a year, it is comfortable, practical, and, above all, very accurate (much more than those made of cotton). Also in my day-to-day make-up, I replaced the plastic brushes with brushes from Beter's Natural Fiber line. Their handles are produced with materials based on wheat fibers, helping to reduce the consumption of plastics. I highly recommend these brushes, even from a more professional point of view, because synthetic hair has a lot of quality and does not irritate the skin. In addition, it is a very complete range, from liquid and powder brushes (bronzer, blush, eyeshadows), to precision brushes.

It was not only in the make-up that I made some changes in my routine. Still from Beter's Natural Fiber range, I now use environmentally friendly make-up and face cleansers. I replaced the disposable cotton pads with reusable make-up remover pads. They are really soft and, since I made this purchase, I have already saved about 3 packs of cotton pads. At the end of each use, I put the pads in the washing machine (in a special bag that comes with the product), together with the clothes, and they look like new.

The last product I bring you today did not replace anything in my routine, but rather complement the cleansing of the face, without harming the environment. It is a dual-function facial brush. I use the hair (of course synthetic!) side to exfoliate the skin, and the silicone side to ensure a deep cleansing of the face, which after a day of make-up deserves the best care!

Yes, every week that passes I have a more adequate routine and, this time, in addition to improving the routine itself, I just took a step to save kilos of polluting waste per year. And you? Will you try to be more sustainable?
